The Town Councils of Jalón and Llíber are informing that over the past few days the registered levels of cloudiness and aluminium that had caused the water to be deemed unsafe for drinking are no longer present in the water. At present, the quality indexes of the water are within normal values. However, until the Health Department states that said water supply is suitable for drinking, it shall continue to be deemed UNSAFE for consumption We are analysing the possibilities of maintaining adequate consumption safety levels in light of the significant increase in consumption during summer months, hence the "suitable for drinking" consideration may be applied gradually to the different areas. The reason for the high levels of aluminium and cloudiness in the water has been due to problems relating to the water pumps within the wells, due to the extreme drought, leading to the need for making the least possible movements within the well. This is why we will be using a smaller, less powerful pump for longer hours. Both Town Councils are working together to implement measures for permanently improving the water supply problems that have affected the Vall de Pop for many years. We thank you for understanding the current situation.
